Ramingining School is in the community of Ramingining 580km east of Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia; its population fluctuates between 700 and 1000 depending on the season and ceremonial activity.
Ramingining School provides education for students from early years to senior years; the senior years program is supported through the NT Open Education Centre. In 2022, there were 251 students enrolled.
The Yolngu cultural block of North East Arnhem Land in which Ramingining is located comprises 17 clan groups which remain connected and are highly mobile for ceremonial and family reasons, resulting in fluctuating enrolment and attendance at the school.
