Using the Collections

Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).

As this repository showcases CDU's history and memory it may contain images, voices or names of deceased persons in photographs, websites, film, audio recordings or digitised printed materials. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders may see culturally sensitive words, descriptions and terms reflecting a period in which the content was created, which may not be considered appropriate today. While the information may not reflect current understanding, nor reflect the views of Charles Darwin University, it is provided in a historical context.

When we consider that items may contain ICIP and are culturally sacred, secret or sensitive, it may not be appropriate for certain individuals to access the item. In these circumstances we have redacted these images, videos or documents from Recollect and they will not be visible to the public. For queries about access please contact us.
