The Church Missionary Society of Australia (CMS-A) is "a fellowship of Christian people and churches committed to global mission." Based in Parkville, Victoria, CMS-A supports missionaries in more than 40 locations around the world.
The Church Missionary Society (CMS-UK) was founded in England in 1799 by a small group of Anglican evangelicals. A CMS-UK outpost was set up in Sydney in 1825 and the first English missionaries arrived from England shortly afterwards serving indigenous communities in New South Wales.
