Description
The Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs is a standing sub-committee of the Australian Senate, with a portfolio coverage including Home Affairs and Attorney-General's.
On 24 June 2014, the Senate referred the draft of the Medical Services (Dying with Dignity) Bill 2014 to the Committee for inquiry and report. The Committee was to pay particular attention to the rights of terminally ill people to seek assistance in ending their lives, and appropriate frameworks and safeguards with which to do so.
