The Society for Old Age Rational Suicide was a UK-based pro-euthanasia lobby group established by Dr. Michael Irwin on December 10, 2009.
The Society campaigned for a change of law so that very elderly, mentally competent individuals, who are suffering unbearably (not “terminally”) could have "a dignified death, as an ultimate human right."
The Society also supported campaigns by UK Dignity in Dying and Scottish Friends At The End for a change in the law to permit doctor-assisted suicide for the terminally-ill.
