Fiona Shalley is an Australian researcher. She has a particular interest in population data for minority population groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, new migrant groups and the non-heterosexual community.
Shalley has a keen interest in empowering people with the knowledge and skills to use quantitative data to tell their stories and improve the power of their advocacy. Her research interests include:
• Enhancing quantitative data sources with qualitative research to enrich data story telling
• Supporting ethical data linkage and integration to make the most of existing data sources
• Visualising data to aid understanding and to make statistics more accessible.
