Norm Kelly
Norman John Patrick Kelly (6 January 1959—) is a former Australian politician.
Born in Darlinghurst, New South Wales, Kelly was a photographer before entering politics. In 1996, he was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council for East Metropolitan region as a member of the Australian Democrats.
Whilst in Parliament, Kelly was a supporter of voluntary euthanasia, introducing a private members bill in 1998 and again in 2000; neither made it past their second reading.
After leaving politics in 2001, Kelly studied at Curtin University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (2003) and Bachelor of Social Science (2004). He completed a PhD with Australian National University in 2009.
Kelly emigrated to New Zealand in 2015. He has worked in advisory positions across a range of organisations including the Department of Conservation, Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice. He lives in the Bay of Plenty. ("Norm Kelly", [n.d.]).
