Ian Cohen (5 June 1951—) is a former Australian politician and environmental campaigner.
He graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Arts and later earned a Graduate Diploma in Education. Cohen spent much of the 1980s campaigning for environmental and anti-nuclear causes, including at Daintree, Franklin River, and at the 75th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy.
Cohen joined the Australian Greens in 1984. In March 1995 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council as its first Green member. Cohen twice introduced legislation on voluntary euthanasia into the upper house, including seeking a referendum on the issue. He failed both times and believed conservative Christian forces were to blame (Jacobsen, 2007).
