YWrite is a creative writing and prison education initiative led by Charles Darwin University that empowers incarcerated individuals to express themselves through storytelling, prison prose, poetry and visual arts. Through a series of workshops delivered in Northern Territory correctional facilities, the project supports participants in developing their creative voice, building confidence, and reflecting on their experiences. By fostering self-expression, literacy and hope, YWrite demonstrates the transformative potential of creative practice within correctional education.
